The peninsula is also famous for its defensive military works that you can visit all year round for the most part from the Hotel Thalassa. The Route des Fortifications, will allow you during your stay to discover this set realized during centuries in this strategic place in order to protect the roadstead of Brest from the enemy invasion.
The military heritage of the Crozon Peninsula is remarkable by its number, about 150 works, but especially by its diversity.
The Route des Fortifications allows you to approach about fifteen sites from the hotel, knowing that many others will be added to this route as security work is carried out and military land is transferred. Nowadays, there are still military installations, depending on the war port of Brest: submarine base of the Ile Longue, underground nuclear missile warehouses, naval air base in Lanvéoc-poulmic… Our favorites are the Fort des Capucins and the Fort Robert, to be discovered from our hotel in Finistère
